FARZANA ISMAIL is a Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) and has several years of extensive ergonomic consulting experience in a wide range of unionized and non-unionized industries. She caters to the ergonomic needs of high-profile companies in various sectors including automotive manufacturing, laboratories, transportation, breweries, oil refineries, government agencies, retail, long-term care homes, catering, telecommunications, financial services, hotels and several office environments. She provides consulting services to three leading Canadian ergonomic consulting firms. Farzana served a two-year term as Regional President for the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) - BC / Yukon region from 2009 - 2010 and is currently serving her third two-year term as Regional Secretary for the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) - ON region. She is a graduate of Univ. of Waterloo’s Kinesiology Co-op program (Ergonomics Option) and achieved Dean’s Honours List Distinction.
FOCUS ON ERGONOMICS is an Ontario company which provides the following services within industrial, service or office work settings: 1. Ergonomic Assessments – A 3-step process that involves: i) On-site assessment (data collection); ii) Comparing actual data to guidelines / industry standards; and iii) Report with findings and recommendations (engineering, administrative or behavioural). 2. Job Demands Analysis – description of the job’s physical demands. These reports are particularly useful for accelerating the return-to-work process for injured workers. 3. Ergonomics Training – Topics include office ergonomics, recognition of ergonomic risks within the workplace, recommendations to eliminate or reduce the ergonomic risks and stretching exercises.
