ACE has opportunities for you to be a voice within the association and contribute to the promotion of ergonomics in Canada. We are currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Website Committee Member
As a member of this committee, you will work with the team to provide strategic advice, guidance and direction to the ACE Executive Committee on technology initiatives. The website committee makes recommendations regarding technology tools and resources, and reports to Council on matters of federal and provincial legislation that may have broad technology implications.
Webinar Committee Member
The webinar committee works to enhance access to professional development opportunities and material to members throughout the year. As a committee member you will help plan, develop and implement the Association’s professional development activities through webinars. You will research potential speakers and presenters for webinars based on topics that fall in line with the ACE strategic focus. You will help ensure all necessary steps are followed (these are well-documented) and chair (or organise a chair) for webinar presenters.
Communications Committee Chair
The Communications Committee Chair shall be responsible for chairing the meetings, reporting activities of the Committee to the Executive Committee, ensuring that the meetings move forward in an efficient manner and that updates on communication-related matters are provided to the Governing Council as appropriate.
Student Committee Member
This committee is principally comprised of student members of ACE. Following the recommendations made to National Council by the Student Engagement Task force of November 2016 - July 2017, this committee will be responsible for communicating a plan to implement student-member friendly policies and practices.
2019 Conference Committee Member
The 2019 ACE conference will be held in beautiful St. John’s, Newfoundland (NL). While we are recruiting volunteers from the Atlantic region, members nationally are invited to be a part of this committee. Conference committee members are responsible for the development of the technical program content, conference theme, and identification of educational, social and networking activities and facilitators. The chair of this conference is Kathy-Lynn Shaw.
President-Elect on the National Council
The duties of the President Elect are as follows:
Candidates to be considered for the position of President-Elect must currently or have previously served as a member of the National Council
Secretary on the National Council
The duties of the Secretary are as follows:
Candidates to be considered for the position of Secretary must be bilingual (English-French).

Francophone Social Media Volunteer
The Francophone social media volunteer will develop and implement a social media strategy to increase overall reach and brand awareness. He/she will use social media outlets to promote active ACE activities and initiative and, engage our Francophone members and/or the public and increase online presence. The Francophone social media volunteer will directly contribute to increasing ACE’s presence in social media as the “voice of ergonomics” in Canada.
